Emerald Corporate Park    Off-site Wetland Mitigation

Raedeke Associates, Inc. has designed, overseen implementation of, and monitored this six-acre wetland mitigation site in Auburn, Washington. The mitigation was intended to compensate for unavoidable impacts to wetlands at the Emerald Corporate Park development.

Raedeke Associates, Inc. coordinated the design of the mitigation site with the City of Auburn, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the City of Auburn.  The mitigation involved the restoration and enhancement of six acres of reed canarygrass in the Green River valley.

The formerly degraded wetland site was cleared and graded to a variety of wetland hydrologic regimes and then planted to establish a diverse set of wetland vegetation communities.  The site has now developed forested, scrub-shrub, emergent, and aquatic bed vegetation communities where there was only a monoculture of invasive reed canarygrass.
